Scallop Pouch

This pouch is one of the projects that we made last night at my Mystery Hostess Party. I used the scallop envelope Big Shot die to create it. Instead of having the paper cover the whole bottom flap on the die, I folded the Lavendar Lace cardstock and had the fold extend onto just 1/4" of the bottom flap. That way it essentially cut 2 scallop envelopes that were connected at the bottom. The just glue the side flaps together (I used sticky strip), decorate, and punch holes to tie a ribbon through and voila--you have a little pouch (wouldn't it be great for some Ghirardelli chocolate inside).

Flowers for You

I got my Big Shot yesterday, so I had to play with it. I cut out a piece of Barely Banana cardstock with the Top Note die and stamped "For You" from the Happy Everything set using Tangerine Tango ink. The flowers come from the Petal Pizazz set and are stamped in Tangerine Tango and Real Red. I cut out the tangerine flower by hand and used the scallop circle punch on the red flowers and mounted them with stampin' dimensionals. I finished off the card with a bit of double striped Tangerine Tango grosgrain ribbon.

Thinking of Flowers

I am loving cards made with Cameo Coral lately. This color is so warm and it just reminds me of the warmer days to come, and they can't come soon enough!!! I used the Raspberry Tart designer series paper--which matches Real Red, Rose Red, Cameo Coral, and Kiwi Kiss (the Stampin' Up! catalog tells you which colors the paper matches, so no guesswork needed). If you go to my web site and click SHOP NOW to place an order, you can receive a Spring/Summer 2009 Idea Book and Catalog FREE with your order. I love how everything from SU! color coordinates! I used the Sweet Stems set for the flower, and Sincere Salutations for the greeting.

Spring Flowers

I can't wait until Spring! I am tired of coats, bad air quality, cold air, and not going for walks whenever I feel like it. I've noticed that my more recent stamping is taking on a Spring look, with pastel and bright colors and a lot of flowers. Hurry up Spring!!!

The flowers on this card are from the Petal Pizazz stamp set. I've been using this set a lot lately because it was just introduced in January and I'm trying to come up with some ideas for my newest stamps. I copied the layout that I used on the happy card that I posted on February 10th. The base is Pretty in Pink. The flowers are Lovely Lilac stamped on Almost Amethyst, Summer Sun stamped on Barely Banana, Green Galore stamped on Gable Green, Ballet Blue stamped on Bashful Blue, and Pink Passion stamped on white. I used the 1-1/4" square punch to punch the flowers, and then the 1-3/8" square punch for the black square. The black square is raised up from the card with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Petal Pizazz Flowers

Cameo Coral, Apricot Appeal, Barely Banana, and Certainly Celery are some of my favorite colors together. This is a speedy card made with this color combo along with the Petal Pizazz stamp set. The greeting is from Heard From the Heart. I used the scallop edge punch on the apricot cardstock and tied a celery 5/8" grosgrain ribbon around it. This is a fast and fun 5 minute card.

Kindness Flowers

I used the 1-1/4 inch square punch to create the blocks on this card. The 3 white blocks use the Sweet Stems stamp set and the other 3 blocks are punched out of the Tea Party designer series paper. This is a pretty simple card and fast card to make.

Happy Flowers

I actually made a couple of cards today!!! This card uses the Raspberry Tart designer series paper and the Happy Everything and Polka Dot Punches sale-a-bration stamp set. Can you tell that I love the Polka Dot Punches set? It is such an easy set to use because SU! has punches that coordinate with the stamps so that no cutting is required! I stamped the flowers with real red ink onto cameo coral card stock and then highlighted them with the white signo gel pen (the BEST white pen I've found--and only $3.95 from SU!) and then punched them out with the 5 petal flower punch and mounted them with dimensionals. Card base is Rose Red and the greeting is stamped with Kiwi Kiss. Finally, I added 2 real red brads to the bottom right corner.

Sliding Box

I finally got a few minutes to stamp today (well, I was interrupted a couple of times, but I really did get time to do a project. I cut a 5-1/2"x3-1/2" sheet of pretty in pink card stock and scored 1" around each side then folded that into the base of the box. The top (sliding part) uses the Tea Party Designer Series Paper and was 8"x5-1/2" and I wrapped it around the box after scoring it at 1", 4-1/2", 5-1/2" and 7". I also used the Polka Dot Punches set (get this set FREE during February and March with a $50 order) for the flower and mounted it with a Stampin' Dimensional and tied some pink taffeta ribbon around it. Here is what I came up with...

A Big Shot's a Comin'

I'm excited! I've ordered my Big Shot from Stampin' Up! I also ordered a bunch of their exclusive dies! The best part is that it is Sale-a-bration, so not only did I get a free hostess set and $25 in free product with my order, but I also got 5 free sale-a-bration items too! I love free stuff! Now I just have to wait patiently until next week for it to arrive. I have so many fun ideas that I want to try out. I may even use it to make projects for my March stamping class. Be sure to check my blog next week for some pictures!

Next Thursday I'll be having a Mystery Hostess Party and you are invited. Contact me for more details! We'll be doing free make-n-takes, snacking, and drawing for prizes. One of my lucky guests will win all of the hostess benefits from the orders placed that night. You can earn tickets for the drawing for every $10 you spend, being one of the first 5 to RSVP, arriving on time, bringing a card that uses Stampin' Up! products for a card contest, bringing an adult friend (that I didn't invite), bringing an order from someone not attending, pre-registering for my March class, booking a workshop, and signing up to become a demonstrator. I'm going to be busy with the preparations for the party, so I may not be posting a lot of ideas between now and then, but check back often because I may surprize you!

Finally, I'm going to plug the March for Babies. I'm going to be walking this year and would love any support. You can donate or join my team by clicking on the link on the right.
