Tidings of Joy
Here's the final card from my Christmas Card Buffet. It's pretty simple, just some stamps, ribbon, paper, and Stampin' Pastels (to color in the image). The white layer was done with the Top Note die on my Big Shot. This is from the Tidings of Joy stamp set, which is a great reminder for all of us this Christmas Season. May the peace and love from that special night fill our hearts this season. Merry Christmas!

Textured Ornament
I LOVE the textured impressions folders for the Big Shot. I'd say they are my favorite thing to use in the Big Shot. I only wish they made more of them. This card uses the Delightful Decorations stamp set with the coordinating ornament punch. The colors are Real Red and Garden Green. The greeting comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set and is punched with the word window and modern label punches.

Poppy Pear Stockings
Here's another card using the Stitched Stocking stamp set and the coordinating punch. I stamped them in Poppy Parade and Pear Pizazz and layered them on some designer series paper and card stock. The last layer was cut out with the Top Note die for the Big Shot. The greeting is from Sincere Salutations and is punched with the wide oval punch. If you look back in my blog, you may recognize this card--I've done it a few times with different stamps. I love how the same layout can be used with different stamps for a whole new card!

In Color Stitched Stockings
Here's an nontraditional combination of colors for Christmas, but I love it! I found a card similar to this online (sorry, can't remember where so I don't know who to give credit to) and I just had to make one and share it. We made this card at my Christmas Card Buffet back in October and it was a hit!
Colors used are Melon Mambo and Pear Pizazz (Pear Pizazz is a current In Color). I used the Stitched Stockings stamp set that is in the Holiday Mini Catalog with the coordinating punch--LOVE how punches coordinate with stamp sets! The "Very Merry" is from the Short & Sweet stamp set. Dimensionals, a border punch, some Designer Series Paper, and a bit of white grosgrain finish off the card. Enjoy!

Muffin Tin Advent
Here is one of the advent calendars that I offered at my Super Christmas Stamp class last week. The circles magnet onto the muffin tin to hide the countdown surprise. Since the magnets aren't super strong, I just put slips of paper behind each number, with activities or scriptures to read each day until Christmas. These are pretty simple advent calendars to make--just punch some fun Designer Series Paper and layer onto scallop punched card stock. I had my husband drill holes in the top of the muffin tins so that I could thread some striped ribbon through it. The colors on my calendar are Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive.

Purple Snow
I should have posted this card yesterday, but I was having problems getting the photo to upload. I thought it would be fitting to post a purple card on the 7th for my friend's birthday--saying that she loves purple is an understatement.
This is a pretty simple card to make. I paired Concord Crush and Wisteria Wonder together for a cool snowflake card. The large snowflake background was made with the Northern Flurry textured impressions folder and the stamped snowflakes come from the Serene Snowflakes stamp set.

Cherry Cobbler Ornament
I love using the color Cherry Cobbler for Christmas cards. This ornament (from the Contempo Christmas stamp set) was stamped in Cherry Cobbler and then punched out with the matching ornament punch. Isn't it nice how Stampin' Up! makes things that coordinate so well? I love not having to cut out the ornament (or several other shapes for that matter) due to the fabulous punches. This is a pretty quick and simple card to put together--just a few layers of paper, a little ribbon, a couple of stamps, and that's it! One tip for adding bits of ribbon to your projects: use the mini glue dots! They are not messy and they are just sticky enough to securely hold a knot or bow of ribbon in place. I also used Old Olive on this card, and the card base is Vanilla card stock. The talented Julie Davidson made a card very similar to this and I just loved it and wanted to recreate it and share it with you, but I give her the credit for designing it. Thanks Julie!

Ornament Trio
I'm wishing that I had green grass to photograph cards on today, but we have a cold blanket of snow instead (I took this picture last week). Here's another card that I designed for my Christmas card buffet. The Garden Green ornament is stamped with the Delightful Decorations set, the Merry Christmas comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set and then I used the ornament punch to punch the Real Red paper (from the Brights DSP stack) and Daffodil Delight card stock. I used the newest textured impressions folder for the green card stock.

Serene Snowflakes
I love some of the new In Colors. This card uses three of the 2011-2013 colors--I wish they'd stay around longer than that, but I'll take advantage of using them while I can! Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, and Island Indigo work well together for a cool and contemporary snow card. The snowflakes are from the Serene Snowflakes stamp set and the greeting comes from Heard from the Heart. If you like these In Colors, be sure to get them while you can!

Let the Christmas cards begin!
I can't believe it is already November! Where did October go (and what about September)? We'll just skip past fall cards for now and jump right into Christmas as this is the time to get thinking about those cards to send out. I know that photographing Christmas cards on nice green grass is kind of strange, but hey, I'm enjoying the green as long as I can before that snow comes along!
I held a Card Buffet at my home last week where we made several different Christmas cards. This is one of my favorite cards from the class (but there are several other favs as well)! The stamps are from the Season of Joy stamp set (click on the tag below and you can see more ideas with this set). Colors are Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, and So Saffron. I love the textured impressions folders for the big shot, which is how I did the red background. The striped paper is from the Regals DSP stack. It's a pretty quick and easy Christmas card!

Pink (and blue) Patterned Party
Here's another card that we made at my card buffet earlier this month. We used the builder wheels to make the background (and just wheeled it in the pink ink pad instead of using an ink cartridge). The stamp is from Patterned Party and it was inked by using my Stampin' Write markers so that we could get multiple colors on the image. The scallop edge punch was used along the side of the card and then I glued a piece of blue card stock (about 3/4" wide) to the inside of the card to help show off the scallops. Colors are Pink Pirouette and Marina Mist.

Textured Butteflies
Sorry for the delay in posts lately. I finally was able to take the time to photograph the last few cards that we made at my card buffet. Unfortunately, I didn't see the sunny hot spots on the picture until I was adding my watermark, so I hope you don't mind the hot spots (I figured it was better than having to wait to rephotograph).
Anyway, this is a fun card that could be done with a variety of punches. I punched the butterfly punch in four of this year's In Colors (Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Island Indigo, and Wisteria Wonder--I just love how these 4 coordinate). I glued them onto white card stock and then ran it through my big shot with a textured impressions folder and that's about it. The greeting is from the Short & Sweet stamp set and is punched with the word window punch and layered on the modern label punch. I'll have to try out this technique with other punches and folders and post the results. Be sure to click on the photo to see the texture better.

Christmas in August
At my Card Buffet last week, my sister in law decided that she ought to make some Christmas cards for a card club that she participates in. She took all of the supplies that we had out for this card and turned it into a Christmas card by using the Contempo Christmas stamp set and coordinating ornament punch. I love how it turned out! Colors are Pear Pizazz and Poppy Parade (2010-2012 In Colors).

Best of Purple
I found a new color combination that I love--Wisteria Wonder and Concord Crush (both In Colors). This card uses the Best of Everything stamp set and the Happiest Birthday Wishes hostess set. I inked up the flower stamp by coloring directly on it with my Stampin' Write markers so that the flowers and leaves could be two different colors. The green is also an In Color--Lucky Limeade.

It's Your Day Up Up & Away
Here's a quick and simple card made with the Up, Up & Away stamp set. I used the "It's Your Day" stamp from the Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp set. I love the new In Colors for this year, so I used 3 of them--Pool Party, Island Indigo, and Wisteria Wonder. The stripes are just 1/2" wide strips of card stock.

Trio of Flowers
The Flower Fest stamp set is one of my top 5 favorite sets in the current catalog (I'm not sure what the other 4 are, but I know this has to be up towards the top). I stamped the bud in Wisteria Wonder and Bashful Blue and then punched it out with the 1-3/8" circle punch. The leaves are Certainly Celery (and I just used the ol' scissors for them this time). I textured the background with a textured impressions folder in the Big Shot.

Bright Balloons
Here's another card that I made with the Patterned Party stamp set. I used my Stampin' Write markers and colored directly onto the balloon stamp in order to have them each be a different color. The small "happy birthday" stamp is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and the larger one is from the Happiest Birthday Wishes hostess set. Colors are: Melon Mambo, Tangerine tango, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, and Tempting Turquoise.

Up, Up and Away
I found another great set in the new catalog that can be used for many occasions--including birthdays! It's the Up, Up & Away set and you can make the balloons be just balloons or hot air balloons. I love having options and I also like that this set is not girly, so you can use it on more masculine cards as well. I have a tendency to make most of my cards girly, and it seems like so many stamps sets have flowers in them, so it is nice to have some variety here (although this card is girly because of the colors). Anyway, I used the new striped textured impressions folder for the big shot along with the colors Wisteria Wonder & Pool Party (2011-2013 In Colors), and Pink Piroutte.

Thank You Flowers
I used the new Easy Events stamp set (a great all-occasion set) for this card. If you get this set, I'd suggest cutting the words off of the stamp and mounting them on the side of your block. That way you can use the pictures without words, or words with different stamps, etc. The "thanks big time" is from the A Word for You set and is stamped with white craft ink. I paired Rich Razzleberry with Daffodil Delight on this card (and used a little Wild Wasabi to color the flower stems). The "thank you" is stamped repeatedly (3 or 4 times) before inking again so that it gives the faded look.

Tropical Rain Flowers
This color combo just screams warm and tropical to me. I used Island Indigo (a new In Color for 2011-2013), Tangerine Tango, and Daffodil Delight. I made this card for a color challenge, where I was given three colors and told to make a card. My Raining Flowers stamp set was still sitting out, so I decided it would make a great tropical card. The greeting is from the A Word for You stamp set and is punched with the oval and layered with the scallop oval punch. I love the narrow Daffodil Delight ribbon and (if you look closely) the Brights DSP Patterns paper in Daffodil Delight.

Kindness Fest
I love it when cards come together quickly! This card was a super quick one to make. I used the Big Shot leaves sizzlit and new stripes Textured Impressions Folder. The stamp sets are Flower Fest (flower is punched with the Fancy Flower punch) and Heard from the Heart (for the greeting). Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi are the colors I chose. I used to use Certainly Celery more than anything, but right now I'm loving Wild Wasabi--I think it works better with the bright colors and that's what I'm into with Summer!

Hooray for the Best of Everything
I'm hooked on this color combination! Poppy Parade and Pear Pizazz are just so fun together (and add in a bit of So Saffron). I'm so glad that Stampin' Up! decided to keep In Colors for two years now instead of one, so at least I have two years to make samples with these colors. The red paper is from the In Color DSP Patterns Stack (surprise, surprise). I used the Best of Everything set once again for this card and the greeting is from the Happiest Birthday Wishes Hostess set. Have you noticed that the hostess program has changed? Instead of having to choose from a hostess set plus an amount in free product, you get "hostess dollars" to spend. With the hostess dollars you can choose from ANYTHING out of the current catalogs, and get even more for your (free) money by selecting from hostess sets. I love that the Happiest Birthday Wishes set is the biggest set (value of $37ish) and I was able to get it for FREE with a $150 order (you couldn't do that with the old program) and I even had a few hostess dollars to spare! I love free stuff :)

Patterned Presents
I'm always on the lookout for a new birthday stamp set. This year the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog delivered! This card features one of the stamps from the new Patterned Party stamp set, and I can't wait to use the other stamps in the set as well. I make a lot of different kinds of cards, but it seems that I use birthday and thank you cards more than any others. This card could easily be made more masculine by changing out the colors and removing the ribbon (maybe substitute a strip of card stock or a piece of twine instead). I inked up the present stamp with my Stampin' Write markers (Marina Mist and Pink Pirouette) so that I could have them be more than one color. The dotted background was done with a textured impressions folder for the Big Shot (love those texture folders). I punched a pink oval with the Window Punch after I stamped the "happy birthday" from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set. Happy unBirthday (or happy birthday as the case may be) to all of you!

Flower Fest Buds
Here's another card with the fabulous Flower Fest stamp set. I copied this card idea from another demonstrator (I'd love to give credit where credit is due, but she didn't put her name on it and I just borrowed the sample from a friend). I just loved the color combination and layout that she used, so I copied that and made a few tweaks of my own. Poppy Parade, Pear Pizazz, and Crumb Cake are the colors I used. The green background paper is from the In Color Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack and the green frame is actually the Top Note die for the Big Shot. I used the extra large oval punch, the 1-3/8" circle punch, and the blossom petals punch (for the leaves). The ribbon is Poppy Parade poly twill ribbon. The greeting is from the good ol' Sincere Salutations set--what would I do without that set, it's such a great staple in my collection!

Best of Everything Bird
I've been using my Designer Series Paper Patterns Stacks a lot lately, so I've decided that I need to start using up some of the scraps now. They work perfectly for a background! I chose colors from the Subtles stack--Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, and Certainly Celery. I stamped the branch, bird, and greeting from the Best of Everything stamp set. Overall, this is a pretty quick and easy card (yes, quick and easy is my motto lately, it's the only kind of card I can find the time for these days)!

Flower Fest Trio
One of my new favorite stamp sets is the Flower Fest set (which debuted in the Summer Mini but is also in the 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog). I love the fun floral images that coordinate with so many of our punches. I remember the days of carefully cutting around stamped images so that flowers and such could be layered on a card--thank goodness those days are mostly gone. I don't have time for that anymore! I'm lucky that I had an hour or so on Saturday to sit down and stamp a handful of cards. My new stamps have just been calling to me so that I'd use them and I was happy to get the chance to do so!
This card uses the Flower Fest stamp set and the Sincere Salutations set. I used the 3/4" circle punch and the Fancy Flower Punch for the blossoms. The leaves were punched with the 5 Petal Flower punch and the greeting uses the oval and scalloped oval punches. Colors are Pear Pizazz, So Saffron, Pink Pirouette, and Melon Mambo. I did see a card similar to this that I used for inspiration and modified a little (sorry, I don't know the original artist to give credit to, but thank you to whomever made the card that inspired me).

Best of Friendship
Happy Pioneer Day to all of you from Utah (for those of you outside of Utah, today is a state holiday where we celebrate the arrival of the pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley).
This card features the new Best of Everything stamp set. I love the bold images with the outlines. I used Poppy Parade and Pear Pizazz (2010-2012 In Colors) to make this quick and easy card. The flowers were inked up with Stampin' Write markers so that the flowers and stems could be different colors.

Eggplant Rainflowers
Rainflowers, hmmm. Is that a real kind of flower? I try to title my blog posts so that they relate to the card, so sometimes I have to get creative and make up names. Anyway, this is another card made with the Raining Flowers stamp set. I used Elegant Eggplant, Daffodil Delight, and Wild Wasabi. The greeting is from the Sincere Salutations stamp set and is punched out with the oval punch and layered on wasabi card stock punched with the scallop oval punch. I love how the punches can layer and add to the card!

Flowerpatch
So it took me a while to get this posted. I actually got most of the card made the same day as the last post, but the too short of a nap time thwarted my plans to continue stamping. I made this card with the Raining Flowers set as well. I combined Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, and Wild Wasabi for a bright and fun collage of flowers. The yellow polka dot paper is from the Brights Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack. I love these paper stacks, they offer such a great addition to cards and they match all of the colors! I used the Sincere Salutation stamp set for the greeting (sorry, it's a little blurry--due to the camera focus, not the stamping). I cut out one of the flowers and raised it up with a Stampin' Dimensional.

It's Raining Flowers
Well it's about time that I added a card idea to this blog. Sorry for the lack of ideas and inspiration over the past several months to those of you who have been following. I just haven't had time to stamp and I've sure missed it! What have I been up to instead? Well, I really slowed down with the stamping in the fall when my doctor required that I take it easy for the last trimester of the pregnancy. Then just before baby arrived my stamp room turned into the nursery so the stamps and accessories got boxed up and moved to the storage room. Once the renters moved out we redid the basement and finished that in March so that my stamps once again have a home in my new stamp room/shared office with hubby. So the stamps have a home but now my task is to find the time to use them while taking care of the two kiddos.
The new catalog is out and my new sets arrived just the other day, so I took advantage of a (too short) nap time and mounted the Raining Flowers stamp set and made a quick card. That's all I was able to get done, but making one card is better than making none at all. This card uses the new Raining Flowers stamp set, the Perfect Polka Dot textured impressions folder for the Big Shot, Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, and Early Espresso ink, and Daffodil Delight ribbon. I started making another card with this set, but it lies unfinished on my craft table. Hopefully I'll have it to share with you very soon!

Mystery Hostess Party
After taking it easy for the last few months of pregnancy and the first few months of a new baby, I'm back and ready to stamp! Come celebrate with me in my new stamping space at my Mystery Hostess Party!
This is my favorite (and most popular) event that I hold. Come for a fun night of snacking, stamping, visiting, and winning! One of my lucky guests will win the hostess benefits from all of the orders placed that night. You earn tickets based on a variety of things (bringing a friend, coming on time, being one of the first 5 to RSVP, booking a workshop in your home, joining a stamp club, every $10 you spend, signing up to be a demonstrator, etc). You'll stamp FREE projects and everyone will go home with a prize. Everyone is invited, so invite your friends and RSVP. See you then!
Start planning how many tickets you want to earn:
1 ticket- just for attending
1 ticket-for arriving on time
1 ticket - for being one of the first 5 to RSVP
1 ticket - for every $10 you spend
1 ticket - for every $10 of orders that you bring from someone who couldn't attend
3 tickets - for bringing an adult friend that I didn't invite
1 ticket - for bringing a card for the card contest (must use Stampin' Up! stamps)
2 tickets - for winning the card contest
5 tickets - for signing up to host a workshop in your home
5 tickets - for signing up to host a catalog party (you get the hostess benefits without having a regular workshop)
15 tickets - for signing up to be a demonstrator
Right now it is Sale-a-Bration, where you can pick free stamp sets for every $50 you spend. It is the best sale of the year, so come take advantage of it. If you can't make it to the party, you can still take advantage of Sale-a-Bration, just call me or email me with your order. Hurry, because you only have 2 weeks left to order this special (ends on March 31st). You can see the Sale-a-Bration mini catalog here: http://204.228.150.61/20102011catalogs/SAB11_US.pdf
