Floral Butterfly

Here is another card from my Spring Card Buffet. It uses the Flight of the Butterfly set and the coordinating punch. Colors are Regal Rose and Almost Amethyst (now retired). The designer series paper is also retired, but you can really make this card with any piece of patterned paper. The ribbon is white taffeta. Another quick and easy card!

Razzleberry Butterfly

I've been taking advantage of nap time this week and I've gotten a bunch of stamping done. This card is one that I just sat down and made with the intention to use this paper and the butterfly punch. It is a pretty simple card with very little stamping, but I like the way it turned out. I used the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper, layered it on some Old Olive card stock, layered that on white, tied a piece of white taffeta ribbon around that, and mounted it all on a piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock. The butterfly stamp is from the Flight of the Butterfly set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink, then punched out with the butterfly punch--I LOVE how the punch fits the stamps!!! I mounted the butterfly onto the card with some Stampin' Dimensionals and that is it. Enjoy!

Variety Class Project #3

I love making these boxes! The box measures 4-1/2" tall x 3-1/2" wide x 1-1/2" deep. I scored it with my fiskars paper trimmer scoring blade.

I used Rich Razzleberry cardstock for the box, and then glued some of the Cottage Wall designer series paper to the front of it. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and is punched with the word window and modern label punches. The butterfly is from the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and is punched with the new butterfly punch--I just LOVE that the punches coordinate so well with the stamp sets. The handle is the Rich Razzleberry Polka-dot ribbon and it tied in knots inside the box. The holes that it comes out of are reinforced with the antique brass jumbo eyelets. Bright Butterfly Trio

I saw a card using these 3 colors together and just loved it! Melon Mambo, So Saffron, and Certainly Celery make a fun summer combo!

I used my texture plates for my big shot to create the dots on the saffron and the diamonds on the celery card stock. The small butterflies are from the Flight of the Butterfly set. The Melon Mambo polka dots are from the Melon Mambo patterns designer series paper. The "friend to friend" is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Clean and Simple Butterfly

Here is another card that I made thanks to some inspiration from the Clean and Simple challenge on splitcoast. I am really enjoying making cards with a white background. Not only does it simplify the look of the card, but also it makes it easier to read what is on the inside.

This card uses the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set. I love Melon Mambo with Basic Black (I bet you have already figured this out). The polka dot paper is from the Melon Mambo Patterns Designer Series Paper. I added a bit of black gingham ribbon to finish off the card.

In Color Butterflies

I decided to get some new inspiration for some cards, so I went over to splitcoast and checked out the current challenges. This is the first time that I have participated in one of the challenges, but it is great fun and it helps inspire me, so I think I'll try to do some challenge each week. The challenge I did was today's Sketch Challenge. They show a sketch of a card and then you make what you want. Today's sketch had the 3 squares offset from the center and then mounted on a strip (like I did on my card). So fun!

I used the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set, one that I've had for a year, but really haven't used much. I just got Stampin' Up!'s butterfly punch, which fits this set, so I think I'll be using it a lot more now. It is so fun to play with new toys! I used the butterfly punch, the 1-1/4" square punch, and the 1-3/8" square punch. The butterflies are stamped in Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, and Bermuda Bay--all 3 are new In Colors. The paper is Bashful Blue, Gable Green, Pretty in Pink, and Barely Banana (with some white & black). I tied the black gingham ribbon around the card to finish it off. Big Shot Butterflies

Here is a card that I made for one of our group meetings (we swap with other demonstrators and get great ideas). I used Kiwi Kiss card stock and some patterned paper from the Occasions Mini called a Walk in the Park. The butterflies are cut from my Big Shot and I tied 1/4" grosgrain around them to make bodies and antennas. The verse (butterfly trail) is in the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set. Finally, I used the scallop edge punch to divide the patterned paper from the card stock.

About time

Well, it is about time that I get back into gear and post more cards. Sorry that I took a break, things just got crazy. I'm afraid that I overdid it a bit when I posted a lot of samples on some days, so I'll try to keep it to one a day so that things are a bit more spread out and consistent.

This is a card that I made for my mom for Mother's Day. The verse that is the butterfly trail says "one person can make such a difference and that person is you" which I thought was perfect for my mom. I used Pretty in Pink cardstock, Pink Passion ink, the Flight of the Butterfly set, the scallop edge punch, some pattern paper from last year's catalog, and Sage Shadow ribbon. This card was simple, but I love how it turned out.

Coral Butterflies

I LOVE the new scallop edge punch that came out last August. This is a quick card that I made last September and used for a class in November. Flight of the Butterfly is the stamp set and I used Cameo Coral and Apricot Appeal ink and cardstock. To have the Apricot show through from the inside of the card, I just glued a 1/2 inch strip to the inner edge, and the scallops are punched from the front edge.
