Swirled Snowflakes

A couple weeks ago my friend Pam asked if I had the Snow Swirled stamp set.  She borrowed it and made a card similar to this.  I loved how she used red and green and gray together, so I used some elements of the card (the snowflake background, the greeting, and the diagonal ribbon) and changed up the rest a bit to create my own.  I changed the red to Cherry Cobbler, the olive to Garden Green and left the Basic Gray.  I also loved how she used ribbon on the card and just glued a piece diagonally--I did this with the Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon.  The verse also comes from the Snow Swirled stamp set and is punched with the wide oval punch and layered on the Decorative Label Punch.  I wanted it to stand out a little, so I added the blossom punch behind it.  I figured it has 6 sides like a snowflake, so why not?

This week's challenge on Hand Stamped Sentiments is to make a card with Snowflakes, so here it is.  Hope you enjoy!

Heard from the Heart Holiday Card

Here is a Christmas card that some of you may recognize. We did it as part of a stamp-a-stack last year. I stamped the snowflakes from the Snow Swirled set in white and then the greeting from Heard from the Heart in garden green. The scallop edge punch and striped grosgrain ribbon add the finishing touches to this quick and fun card.

Snow Swirled

This card features the Snow Swirled stamp set. I used Bashful Blue and Pacific Point on this card. It is a simple one to make--just stamps, ink, and paper--and a little Pacific Point double striped grosgrain ribbon to finish it off. If you replace the "Season's Greetings" stamp, this would make a great January card as well.
