Fresh Vintage Scalloped Flower

It's fun to layer the small/round flower from the Fresh Vintage set with different punches and see how different the results look.  On this card, I layered it onto the scallop circle punch instead of the blossom punch that I've been using a lot lately.  At first my card was going to be a 3x3 size, but then I decided to attach the 3x3 card to a standard sized card and this is what I came up with.  Colors are Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point.  The "best wishes" comes from Short & Sweet and then I added the little flower from the Fresh Vintage set next to the words.  Quick and simple!

Simple Mixed Bunch

Here's a CAS card (CAS means Clean & Simple).  So many times we get caught up in making beautiful but elaborate cards that we forget that simple is okay and white space isn't necessarily a bad thing.  I for one need to do things pretty simply lately otherwise I just don't have time to stamp.  This card was SO FAST to put together.  All it took was stamping a flower from the Mixed Bunch set, punching it out with the blossom punch, layering it onto a gray blossom punch, layering it onto a strip of Melon Mambo DSP, layering it onto a strip of Basic Gray cardstock, then layering it all onto a white card base.  The thank you comes from Short & Sweet.  This card doesn't use a lot of supplies so it is pretty inexpensive to make as well!  Hmmm, maybe a good use of some scraps :)

Fresh Vintage Bright Trio

I think 99% of the time, I make the "standard" sized card (1/2 sheet of card stock folded in half).  It's fun to go against my norm and try a different size, even if it doesn't fit in a regular envelope.  There are a lot of different sizes of envelopes, so something will work, but sometimes I even attach a card to a gift without an envelope (that way the fun card shows up instead of a boring envelope).  This card is a 3x6 card when folded (so you can make 4 out of a 12x12 sheet of card stock).  I stamped the stamp-type image from the Fresh Vintage Sale-a-Bration set in Tangerine Tango, punched it with the scallop square punch, layered it onto a square of Daffodil Delight Patterns DSP, then onto my Tangerine Tango card base with a strip of Tangerine Tango DSP along the bottom.  The thank you stamp comes from one of my favorite word sets--Short and Sweet.  It really was a quick card to put together and I'm loving the brightness of the Tangerine and Daffodil colors.  I'm so over the muted colors right now, just like I'm over Winter and ready for a warm and bright Spring and Summer!

Blossom Punch Out

I'm back to posting samples using the Mixed Bunch set :)

When I started this card, I had stamped one of the large flowers from Mixed Bunch and then punched it out with the fabulous new blossom punch.  I set the scrap down and found that it looked great and I had to use it (little did I know that the stamped flower was what I was going to discard this time around--I ended up using that for a different card).  I love how the punched out shape shows the bold Melon Mambo that is layered underneath.  The yellow center is actually the only part of this card that came from the Mixed Bunch set.  "Best Wishes" is from Short and Sweet.  As you can probably tell from so many of my card samples, one of my favorite products is the Patterns Designer Series Paper.  It comes in stacks of 20 sheets sold by color family and is a great value compared to the other paper.  I used a small scrap of Melon Mambo Patterns DSP and layered it onto some Melon Mambo card stock punched with the scallop edge punch.  The card base is Daffodil Delight.  This card just screams Spring or Summer to me.  Are you ready for warmer weather yet?  I am!

Gray & Daffodil Fresh Vintage

Quick 3x3 Flower

Hooray!  I got a little bit of stamping in again today.  I still have so many ideas in my head and notes written about cards to make with the Mixed Bunch set, so hopefully I'll get more time to stamp again soon.

This is a quick 3x3 note card.  I actually had a few of the pieces already cut from an old project, so this was a cinch to put together!  The flower was made with a stamp from the Mixed Bunch set and with Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango ink.  First I stamped it in Daffodil Delight, then I rolled just the edges in Tangerine Tango for the effect (it's called Rock and Roll).  I punched it out with the scallop circle punch and then layered it onto a couple of pieces of paper from the Brights Designer Series Paper stack.  The "wish big" comes from the Short & Sweet stamp set.  I love quick and easy, I'll have to make up more 3x3 cards!

In Color Stitched Stockings

Here's an nontraditional combination of colors for Christmas, but I love it!  I found a card similar to this online (sorry, can't remember where so I don't know who to give credit to) and I just had to make one and share it.  We made this card at my Christmas Card Buffet back in October and it was a hit!

Colors used are Melon Mambo and Pear Pizazz (Pear Pizazz is a current In Color).  I used the Stitched Stockings stamp set that is in the Holiday Mini Catalog with the coordinating punch--LOVE how punches coordinate with stamp sets!  The "Very Merry" is from the Short & Sweet stamp set.  Dimensionals, a border punch, some Designer Series Paper, and a bit of white grosgrain finish off the card.  Enjoy!

Textured Butteflies

Sorry for the delay in posts lately.  I finally was able to take the time to photograph the last few cards that we made at my card buffet.  Unfortunately, I didn't see the sunny hot spots on the picture until I was adding my watermark, so I hope you don't mind the hot spots (I figured it was better than having to wait to rephotograph). 

Anyway, this is a fun card that could be done with a variety of punches.  I punched the butterfly punch in four of this year's In Colors (Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Island Indigo, and Wisteria Wonder--I just love how these 4 coordinate).  I glued them onto white card stock and then ran it through my big shot with a textured impressions folder and that's about it.  The greeting is from the Short & Sweet stamp set and is punched with the word window punch and layered on the modern label punch.  I'll have to try out this technique with other punches and folders and post the results. Be sure to click on the photo to see the texture better.

Fancy Favor Pouch

Once a month I get together with other demonstrators in my group to share ideas and to stamp. Here is the project that I made for today's get together. Our theme today was to make a project using the Big Shot.

I made this with the Fancy Favor box. Instead of folding it all to make a box, I cut off one of the sections (the one that would be either the front or back of the box) and turned it into a pouch instead by glueing the two sides onto each other. This is a perfect size to put a gift card inside or just a note for a friend. I decorated the pouch with the new flower punch, paper from the Cottage Wall DSP collection, the 1" circle punch, and some Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon. The Wish Big stamp is from the Short and Sweet stamp set.

Another 3x6 card

I'm really on a 3x6 card kick. Maybe it is because they are so fast and easy. One of my friends is getting married in May and her colors are Pink Passion and Green Galore, so I decided to make her a few thank you cards in those colors. I stamped a flower from the Petal Pizzaz stamp set and then used some scraps of designer series paper that was retired a few years ago. The thank you stamp is from the Short and Sweet stamp set.

Variety Class Project #1

Here is one of the projects that we made at my Variety Stamp Class tonight. We had a lot of fun and had a good turn out. If you missed this class, we hope you can join us in September for the Holiday Mini class.

I used the Box #2 die for my Big Shot (my new favorite toy). I cut 2 boxes out and glued them back to back to make this basket. Instead of folding down the lid, I kept it up and punched a hole with my oval punch to make the handle. I wrapped an 1"x12" piece of the Cottage Wall designer series paper around it--there was a little gap in the front, so that is where I put my flower. I used the 5-petal flower punch to make the flower out of white and Rich Razzleberry card stock. The center of the flower is stamped with one of the circles in the Circle Circus stamp set. The leaf is old olive punched with the small oval punch and stamped with the Thank You from the Short and Sweet stamp set. I tied old olive grosgrain ribbon around the handle to finish it off.

Thank You Box

You know those 2.5 and 4 ounce containers the Gerber baby foods com in? Well, they make fun decorative containers with a few stamps and some paper. A while ago I was trying to come up with a fun project to take to my group meeting and I realized that I had a bunch of these containers. So, I grabbed some Pacific Point Patterns paper, ink, card stock, and striped ribbon. I also used a corner rounder, a round stamping sponge, a brilliant blue brad (to attach the flower), the Eastern Blooms stamp set, and the Short & Sweet stamp set. This makes an easy and fun little container to put a special surprise in.

Pink Botanical Blooms

Here's another card with the Botanical Blooms stamp set. I think this is my favorite Sale-a-Bration set this year. I used Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, and Mellow Moss, and Night of Navy. I also used the Short & Sweet stamp set, small and large oval punches, and Mellow Moss grosgrain ribbon.

Sweet Stems take 2

Here's another card made with the Sweet Stems stamp set and the Tea Party Designer Series Paper. This one is pretty simple to make. "Best Wishes" is from the Short & Sweet stamp set.

Sweet Stems

The flower on this card is from the Sweet Stems stamp set that was just introduced in the 2009 Spring/Summer Idea Book and Catalog. "Love You" is part of the Short & Sweet stamp set and was punched out with the 5 petal flower punch. I used several different pieces of designer series paper, which all came from the new Tea Party DSP pack. Cardstock and marker colors are regal rose, almost amethyst, so saffron, and certainly celery.
