Fancy Favor Pouch

Once a month I get together with other demonstrators in my group to share ideas and to stamp. Here is the project that I made for today's get together. Our theme today was to make a project using the Big Shot.

I made this with the Fancy Favor box. Instead of folding it all to make a box, I cut off one of the sections (the one that would be either the front or back of the box) and turned it into a pouch instead by glueing the two sides onto each other. This is a perfect size to put a gift card inside or just a note for a friend. I decorated the pouch with the new flower punch, paper from the Cottage Wall DSP collection, the 1" circle punch, and some Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon. The Wish Big stamp is from the Short and Sweet stamp set.

Another 3x6 card

I'm really on a 3x6 card kick. Maybe it is because they are so fast and easy. One of my friends is getting married in May and her colors are Pink Passion and Green Galore, so I decided to make her a few thank you cards in those colors. I stamped a flower from the Petal Pizzaz stamp set and then used some scraps of designer series paper that was retired a few years ago. The thank you stamp is from the Short and Sweet stamp set.

3x6 card from Mystery Hostess

Here is the third and final project that we did at my Mystery Hostess party. It is another 3x6 card (started out as a 6x6 sheet of card stock). We used a 1" and a 3/4" strip of designer series paper from welcome neighbor paper paper stack that you can get free during Sale-a-Bration (now through March). The stamps are from the Happy Moments sale-a-bration stamp set. I punched out the cake with the 1-3/4" circle punch and then tied an old olive grosgrain knot and stuck that on with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Pink & Brown Thank You

Here is another project that we made at my Mystery Hostess Party last week. We used the With All My Heart stamp set and the Dot, dot, dot stamp from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I LOVE the Sending Love Designer Series Paper, so we used that as well. You can see that the inside of the card is vanilla, we added a sheet of very vanilla paper inside so you can see what is written in the card (since the chocolate chip is so dark). What a yummy card--very vanilla and chocolate chip:)

Valentine Box

Last week I mentioned that I would post pictures of the projects that we made at my Mystery Hostess Party. I finally got around to taking some pictures, so here is the first of 3 posts about the projects.

This fun box is made using the Box #2 die for the Big Shot. I cut two of them out and glued them back to back. Instead of folding the lid part down, I left it up and punched a large oval to make a handle for the box. I wrapped a 1" wide piece of the Sending Love designer series paper around the box. To completely wrap around the box, you would need a 13" long strip, so I just covered the 1" gap with a heart. The friend heart is from the I {heart} hearts stamp set and it fits perfectly with the full heart punch. I just LOVE it when Stampin' Up! makes stamps and punches that work together because I'm not a big fan of having to do a lot of cutting out.

With All My Heart Flowers

I've been stamping with a lot of pink and red lately, so I decided it was time to try something new. This card uses Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, and So Saffron. Depending on your monitor, you may or may not be able to see that there are So Saffron flowers stamped amidst the orange and blue ones, but believe me, there are. I used the With All My Heart stamp set that is in the current Occasions Mini Catalog for this card. The Thank You is stamped in white on the pumpkin card stock and then is punched out with the Modern Label punch. I love the striped grosgrain ribbon (comes in 6 colors) so I added that to the card as well. The saffron background paper has a subtle stripe to it and is from the Welcome Neighbor DSP pad (free during Sale-a-Bration).

This card was inspired by one that I saw on splitcoast, but I changed it up a little. I took the general layout and the color scheme and then added my own twist to it.

Butterfly Accent 3x6

Thanks again to Julie Davidson for the inspiration for this card. I used the Butterfly Accent stamp inked in Pretty in Pink and "kissed" it with the Dot, Dot, Dot stamp inked in Real Red (both stamps are found in the Occasions Mini Catalog. The brown flowered paper is from the Sending Love DSP (also in the mini catalog). The red flower was made with the Boho Blossoms punch and has a pink brad as the center. The "thank you" comes from the Happy Moments Sale-a-Bration stamp set. This is a fast and easy card.

Mystery Hostess Party Tonight!

Happy Moments Birdcage

Here is another 3x6 card (check back a few days and you'll see another). I used the same layout, just different stamps and paper. This card is Rich Razzleberry and uses the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper along with the Happy Moment Sale-a-Bration stamp. The ribbon is the white taffeta ribbon (from Stampin' Up! of course). I do admit that I got this card idea from another demonstrator--Julie Davidson. I just loved how simple and pretty it was, so I created one of my own, but it is almost identical to hers. I love how we demonstrators can share ideas!

Happy Moment Double Stack

Here is another card featuring the Happy Moments Sale-a-Bration stamp set. I used the present stamp and stamped it twice to get a tall stack of presents. I colored them in with my Stampin' Pastels and tied a ribbon around the whole piece of white card stock. The edge on the green galore card base is punched with the scallop trim border punch. On the inside edge of the card I glued a small strip of bashful blue card stock to help highlight the border.

Happy Moments Flowers

Here is another card that features the Happy Moments Sale-a-Bration stamp set. I stamped the images in Basic Black and then used my aquapainter and Bold Brights Watercolor Wonder Crayons to color in the flowers. The Pretty in Pink card stock is punched with the new scallop trim border punch. The card base is Lavendar Lace cardstock with a piece of white taffeta ribbon tied around it.

Happy Moments Birthday

Here is a great little birthday card. Sometimes a 3x3 card is the perfect size to add as a tag or tie onto a gift. I have to admit that this card was inspired by another demonstrator (sorry I saw it online and can't remember who to give the credit to).

This card uses the Happy Moments Sale-a-Bration set (that you can earn FREE). I stamped the greeting in Bermuda Bay and the cake in black and then colored it in with the In Color markers (Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay) and then finished off the card with some Bermuda Bay polka dot ribbon--and yes, I do still LOVE the polka dot ribbon.

Olive Heart Flowers

I admit it, I'm not a huge fan of Old Olive. I don't know why, I just prefer Certainly Celery, Gable Green, Garden Green, Always Artichoke, and just about any other green more. I'm trying to branch out and use Olive a bit more in my cards. So, on this card, I only used Old Olive and white, and you know what--I love it!

I've been making a lot of cards using the With All My Heart stamp set, but it seems that most of them are red and pink, so I decided to think outside the box. I punched the flowers out with my 1-1/4" square punch and mounted them on a 1-3/8" Old Olive square (LOVE my square punches). The greeting is punched out with the Modern Label Punch. My background paper is from the Cottage Wall DSP.

Welcome Neighbor card

I just started making a few cards in a different size and I'm loving this new size. The card base is a 6x6 piece of paper so the finished card is 3x6. What a fun size! It would be perfect for a card that you may want to include cash or a check in, but it is great for just a regular card too.

I used the Good Neighbor stamp set (one of the sets you can get for FREE during Sale-a-Bration--contact me for details). The welcome stamp is from the warm words stamp set that can be found in the regular Stampin' Up! catalog. I used the 1-3/4" circle punch and layered it on a 3/4" and 1" strip of pattern paper (from the Welcome Neighbor paper stack--also a free SAB item). I used Barely Banana, Rose Red, and Old Olive for this card. This is just a fun and super fast card to make. Watch for future posts using the same layout.

I (Heart) Hearts

Here's another great stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog -- I (Heart) Hearts. There are several different hearts in this set and many of them can be used along with some of Stampin' Up!s punches. This is a perfect set for Valentine's Day, but also for everyday cards and scrapbook pages. This cards uses Real Red and Basic Black and a bit of Black Gingham Ribbon. The greeting is from the Whimsical Words Sale-a-Bration stamp set that you can earn for FREE (contact me for details).

With All My Heart Friend Card

Here's another card that uses the Sending Love Designer Series Paper and the With All My Heart stamp set. These two products coordinate so well, they just make creating cards so easy! I love the color combination too -- Pretty in Pink and Real Red, perfect for Valentine's! I also used the Dot, Dot, Dot stamp on top of the red flower. I finished off the card by tying a bit of white taffeta ribbon around the card.

Butterfly Accent

I'm so ready for Spring, which is why I'm loving the Spring colors in my stamping. This card uses the new Butterfly Accent stamp (only $7.95) from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I stamped it in Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, and Barely Banana. The card is mounted on Lavendar Lace card stock. I added 3 brads from the Soft Subtles set. The polka dots on the pink card stock are from the new Dot, Dot, Dot single stamp ($9.95) also in the Occasion Mini Catalog. The greeting is from the Whimsical Words stamp set that you can earn FREE during Sale-a-Bration now through March 31st--contact me for more details!

Good Neighbors

I love the new Good Neighbors stamp set that is a Sale-a-Bration set this year. You can earn this cute set for FREE with a $50 order or by hosting a qualifying workshop. I can't wait to make more cards with this set. I stamped this card using 3 of this year's In Colors (Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, and Melon Mambo). I used the new Sale-a-Bration Scallop Trim Border punch on the Melon Mambo card stock. The greeting is also from a Sale-a-Bration stamp set called Whimsical Words.

With All My Heart Thank You

This card features the Sending Love Designer Series Paper and the With All My Heart stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I love this new paper, and it even has glitter on it! Unfortunately, the Pretty in Pink ink doesn't show up well in the photo (there are a couple of flowers stamped above the thank you). The ribbon is the white taffeta ribbon.

Fox and Friends Baby Boy Card

I just LOVE the new Fox and Friends stamp set. Maybe it is because I have a 2 year old and I think I'll get a lot of use out of it, but maybe it is because it is just a super cute stamp set!

I stamped the monkey in gable green (sorry it doesn't show up well in the photo), the turtle in bermuda bay, and the whale in tempting turquoise. I tied bermuda bay polka dot ribbon around the card and then stamped the greeting in bermuda bay ink. The greeting comes from the Whimsical Words Sale-a-Bration stamp set--that you can earn FREE with a $50 order or by hosting a workshop (now through March 31st).

With All My Heart

I finally had a chance to use some of my new stamps tonight. I've had a box of goodies waiting for me, but I was out of town. This is a card that I made for my swap for my Saturday group meeting.

This card features the With All My Heart stamp set that is in the new Occasions Mini Catalog. I used the Rock and Roll technique on the large purple flowers (ink them in Lavendar Lace and then roll the edges of the stamp in Elegant Eggplant for the lighter to darker effect). I also used Summer Sun ink and cardstock. The greeting is mounted inside the card and the window is punched through the front with the modern label punch. I got the polka dots on the card base by using the new perfect polka dots impressions folder for my Big Shot that is also in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

You can make 12 or more cards (just add $1 for each additional card) and all of the supplies (except adhesive) will be provided. You'll go home with cards and envelopes ready to send to your friends and family.

Birthday Water Bottle Topper

Here is another water bottle topper. Click here to see the first one I posted. This one uses the cupcake wheel along with the Party Hearty stamp set. Colors used are Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, and So Saffron. To get the multi-colored stamp, I colored directly onto the stamp with my Stampin' Write markers. The 1-1/4" and scallop circle punches reinforce the hole where the topper sits over a water bottle.

Coasters

My friend and I made some coasters today for Christmas gifts. These were so fun and easy to make! These coasters were stamped with the Baroque Motifs stamp set that can be found in the current Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog. We also made some using the Circle Circus stamp set which turned out great. I'll have to get a picture of those and upload it later.

Polka Dot Petals

I love Stampin' Up!'s bold stamps. They just make cards so easy (no coloring involved). All you need are stamps, ink, and paper!

This card is made using the Pick a Petal stamp set. So fun! You can stamp as many petals as you'd like to make your flowers. The black gingham ribbon finishes it off.

Rectangle Window Christmas

This stamp set is retired, but I'm posting this card for the idea.

I used the 1-1/4" square punch to make a window on the card. To make it rectangle, just punch the square a couple times next to where you punched first. That way you can make the rectangle any length you desire.

When the card is open, the trees are stamped inside the card.

Baroque Motifs

I just love the black gingham ribbon that Stampin' Up! sells. It works with so many different cards. This card features the Baroque Motifs stamp set. I stamped the flower from that set and then punched it out with the circle punch and layered it on the card. Quick and easy!

Holly Jolly Pocket Card

Here is a different idea for a Christmas Card--a pocket card. I wrapped a 5-1/2"x2" piece of Designer Series Paper around the base of the card and glued it at the bottom and on the back sides. Then, the actual stamped card gets tucked into the pocket. I used the slot punch to punch a hole for the ribbon. Colors are Real Red, So Saffron, and Always Artichoke. The star punch is mounted with a Stampin' Dimensional for a finishing touch

Snowman Christmas

This Christmas card uses a couple of retired stamp sets, but I thought I'd post it for the idea. This layout would work great with almost any stamp set. I also like the red gingham ribbon for the scarf on the snowman.

The colors used are Real Red, Handsome Hunter, and Brilliant Blue. I used the Stampin' Pastels to shade in the snowman a little.

Season of Joy 2

Here is the same card that I posted Wednesday, but with the colors switched. It uses the Season of Joy stamp set. I can't decide which I like better.

Harvest

Autumn Harvest is a perfect stamp set for this time of year. I used Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Always Artichoke, and Chocolate Chip on this card. The brads are Always Artichoke and the dots are made with the paper piercing tool in the Crafter's tool kit. I watercolored the pumpkins using my Aquapainter.
